H.E.L.P. (Harehills English Language Project) ESOL classes every Tuesday and Thursday morning starting at 10am until 12 noon. Classes are free. We welcome complete beginners and more advanced students (Levels pre-entry and 1 to 3). Children aged 1 and above are welcome to attend our creche. If you are interested and would like more information please email Celia.


As well as providing English for adults at Leeds City College sites, the college also provides English out in the community at different centres around the city. The classes at these centres come and go but when they are running, provide a convenient and accessible English class in the local community. Please call in at the centre at the class time indicated, to find out more information about the class.

This course is for women who have a limited understanding of English. It is suitable for learners from Pre-Entry Level to Entry Level 3. Learners will build their English skills, cultural understanding and integration into Leeds. Course goals include:

- Being able to write or say personal information, such as name and address in English
- Know how to make an appointment with a doctor or health service
- Know how to stay safe in the community and on-line
- Be able to travel around Leeds on foot or by using buses, including being able to understand timetables
- Understand personal options for access to education and/or employment

Learning will include taught English sessions, guest speakers and an accompanied trip to a location in Leeds.
